When Creating Your Guest List, Wedding Protocol Says You Do n’t Need to Invite Everyone

Making your ceremony guest list can be a stressful process. You want to make sure that your loved ones are present and experience delightful on your special evening, after all. However, there is a cap on the number of visitors your resources and place can hold. And cutting is n’t always simple.

It’s best to stay with the closest family and closest friends when choosing which friends to welcome. However, you should be honest with someone you know if they have made it clear that they anticipate an invitation ( or have told their friends ). Explain respectfully that you have a cap on the number of guests you can invite and that your soon-to-be partner has decided on that number.

Similarly, if you’ve lost touch or their relationship has since ended, you do n’t have to invite every single person who was invited to your friend’s wedding. If you have n’t spoken to them in a year, you might want to think about using the “one year rule.” In that case, they are probably not required to be invited.

It might be worthwhile to bring up the subject with your relatives if you and your fiancé are having trouble coming to an agreement. The tickets had become made available for your other close friends and family members if they agreed to help cover some of the expense. But it’s crucial to discuss the position honestly and openly with your kids.
